Ballpoint pen … again

I decided to use a ballpoint pen at the life drawing group again this week. I love using pastels for figure drawing but every so often I feel the need to do a more deliberate drawing and I find that using a ballpoint pen is comfortable for that. As I’ve mentioned before, it allows me to achieve various values (light and dark) but still gives a bolder rendering of the subject than pencil.

    1. Yes, Ballpoint pen is a very flexible and VERY available tool for drawing. I’m not sure what you mean by references. These are done from live nude models. I very rarely draw from imagination or a photograph if that is what you mean by references. Thanks for writing!

      1. Exactly! It’s also the cheapest art medium I know of haha. I actually did mean just that! I draw from photographs so I wanted to know what ‘reference’ you used. Thanks so much for letting me know! And no worries, i really enjoy your work!!
