Life drawings from December 5

Early winter snows in Danville, Vermont

We had to cancel our life drawing session last week because of heavy snow accumulations. The roads were VERY “iffy” with windblown snow and generally bad driving conditions. Missing one week of life drawing really made a difference. It was hard to focus and get started. I think this winter, starting early and with much snow, is much to blame for my malaise.

This week I started out with a new fine point ballpoint pen (Zebra F-301, 0.7mm). I used it on the short poses but after a couple of false starts on the longer poses, I went to mechanical pencil for the rest of the session. It just felt more comfortable to work with. I’ll try to get back to the fine point pen when I feel a little more confident.
