iPad figure drawing

Well it was inevitable. I purchased the iPad and Procreate app for drawing. What do I draw mostly? Figure studies in life drawing. So what could be more natural than finding a way to combine the two? That’s exactly what I’m experimenting with now. I’m still struggling, learning the capabilities and techniques of the Procreate app and getting used to the Apple pencil. These early efforts are all from photographs but my hope is to become adept at it and, maybe, start using the iPad at the life drawing group. Here are my first semi-successful attempts at it.

    1. Thanks Ruth. I’ve wanted to try this for a long time and finally made the plunge. It’s interesting that, basically, you end up doing the things that you do in normal drawing but through a new medium (tool) once you feel comfortable with it. In addition, it gives you extended options for creativity. I’ve held back trying abstraction using normal media but with the digital option, there is a new freedom to explore. I’m having fun!
