Geometric Abstracts

Until now most of my abstract compositions have been organized around varied overlapping textures and colors. Although they have included some geometric shapes, squares, circles, etc., they are mainly textural in content.

Recent geometric abstractions

These new efforts differ in that they are predominantly geometric in nature. There are some textural elements but most are flat colors in geometric forms. As with earlier designs, I have tried to group disparate objects into a unified whole that brings a sense of congruity and balance to the whole.

  1. Jeff, these are all very interesting to look at. I find them all attractive to the eye. There’s something interesting to look at in each of them.

    1. Thanks Donna. Glad you like them. There are so many ways to use this app (Procreate) that I keep trying new approaches. I have been looking at the work of several abstract artists for inspiration and discovered the work of Shirley Jaffe, an American abstract artist who lived and worked in Paris. The last two of these new ones are influenced by some of her later paintings. If you are interested, you can Google her name for some examples. You might find them interesting too. I’ve also been thinking about and looking at Stuart Davis’ work.
