Some Palate Cleansers

No. I didn’t misspell palette. This is from Wikipedia; “A palate cleanser is a neutral-flavored food or drink that removes food residue from the tongue allowing one to more accurately assess a new flavor. In cultures where diversity of flavors in dishes is customary, the palate cleanser is considered an essential companion to entrees.”

Well, I’m not about to serve up any exotic entrees but I do have some graphic “palate cleansers”. Most of the abstracts that I’ve posted recently are rather complex, multi-layered, diversely textured and/or radically altered in some way. Today I offer several images that harken back to early and mid 20th century abstract artists such as Kandinsky, and Malevich. These offerings are simplified allusions to their style. I hope they will act as the above mentioned “palate cleansers”(perhaps a nice cool sorbet) between the more intricate abstracts that I have been and probably will be posting in future.
