    1. Hi Laureen. Thanks for writing. Yes, when I was in grade school (11 or 12 years old) I tried my hand at it using plasticine a non hardening clay. I was living in Chicago at the time and at the Field Museum there was a diorama of Neanderthal figures. I had a couple of postcards of one of the figures (head shot from two angles) and used those as a reference. My dad helped me put together a simple armature to work the clay on and it turned out amazingly well. Believe it or not, that is the only time I tried sculpture. I used to have a photo of the finished product but it has disappeared along with the sculpture itself. C’est la vie d’art.

        1. Thanks for the compliment Laureen. I think my interests are more geared to the 2 dimensional. I guess I’m just not really motivated to do sculpting although I love looking at everything from folk-art wood carving to Michelangelo’s masterpieces. Have you done sculpting? If so, I’d love to see your work. Best wishes.

          1. Hi again! I once took a sculpting class in school but have no proof of my work since I got rid of all the bulk when I moved into my first apartment. That’s why I like watercolor so much. It takes up so little space!
