Arabesques

Wikipedia defines the term this way: “The arabesque is a form of artistic decoration consisting of surface decorations based on rhythmic linear patterns of scrolling and interlacing foliage, tendrils or plain lines, often combined with other elements.”

As I was working on these three abstracts, I noticed that they evolved with “curvy” shapes and lines. Then the term arabesque came to mind. Maybe the curviness is a carryover from my weekly figure drawing. They may not be traditional arabesque designs but with all the twists and curves I thought of them as such. They were all created in Procreate app for iPad using an Apple pencil.
