Anyone who follows this blog knows that I can get rather involved with complex textures and layering of objects in my digital abstractions. Here’s an example.
Normally I love bright colors, rich flavors and complex imagery. I thought it was time to try thinking minimally and came up with these three related abstracts that use relatively few elements and have a very open feeling. They all share the same parchment-like background and are composed of similar elements, straight and curved lines, areas of diffuse color and scattered small geometric shapes. I tried to create balanced compositions while providing enough material to keep the viewer’s eyes moving and interested. Although the final images seem quite simple and sparse, it took some effort of trial and error to make it work. They were all created on an iPad with Procreate app. As always, your comments, observations and suggestions are most welcome.
